Melodie Somers Melodie comes to the act from 20 years of experience as an actress in professional theatre On and Off Broadway, where she worked with such playwrights as David Mamet, Christopher Durang, Romulus Linney, Arthur Giron, Hal Corley, Shirley Lauro, Frank Gilroy, Curt Dempster and even the late Tennessee Williams. She was fortunate to have worked with director Jerry Zaks several times, as well as, Carl and Rob Reiner. A founding member of Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York City, she also directed and took a stab at writing plays, but was best known in the business as an actress, a master teacher of actor’s craft and a coach of professional actors in New York City for many years.

In the earliest years, Melodie sang in Greenwich Village showcases, cafes and at theatre parties and gatherings,as she pursued her training in acting, voice and dance and gave guided tours of NBC studios. When her daughter was born, she stopped performing to pursue her intellectual studies and developed a private practice as a psychoanalyst and Life Coach, which she still maintains. In 2005, Melodie got the opportunity to return to her love of singing in "Somers & Steel." Melodie also sang lead and bass for two years with "StreetHeart," an all female acappella DooWop group, in New Jersey.  She and Don began writing original music together in 2007 and will have a cd to release in 2008.

Don Adamczyk grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey. His love of music was manifested early, and lead him through a steady course of musical projects beginning in the late 1960's. A self-taught guitarist, his very first "gig" was as a guitar instructor at Piero’s School of Music in Bayonne. This was the beginning of his long and extensive musical career, as a bass and guitar player, organist, singer, and most recently, as a song writer. Over the years, Don has been fortunate to have worked with many talented and successful bands: (on guitar) House Band / Cimarron Dude Ranch Peekskill, NY; (on bass) House Band / Pinegrove Hotel / Catskill Mountains; (on guitar) "The Belleville Pike," an oldies band; (on bass) "Angela Bacari Show Band;" (on guitar) "Free Will," a hard rock quintet; (on bass) "Starbright"/"The Norris Brothers"/"Liberty Bell;" (on bass) "The Chatter Band," NJ's #1 Disco Band; (on bass) "Northern Lights" / "Zapp;" (on bass) "Quicksand," a country rock quintet; (on bass) "Miracle," a banquet and wedding band;

While pursuing a long and successful career as a Realtor in New Jersey, Don also worked as a guitar soloist until 1993. After a seven year hiatus, he returned to the music scene as a solo act in 2000. In March of 2002, he joined ranks with Karen "Silk" Cooper, and started the duo "Silk and Steel". The evolution of that project became "Somers & Steel," with his current partner, Melodie Somers.
